The role playing games have been around for decades now and they still haven't lost their charm . Be it single or multiplayer games some of the best RPGs excel in Story, Gameplay and Environment. Reason — the players enjoy the countless hours they invested in the game to understand it’s story, adjust to the game’s mechanics and get familiar with the world the game is set in.

I am taking “Witcher 3” for example as the game is more than a decade old but still everyone’s favourite. On occasions gamers can talk about it for hours discussing their witchering ways, gears and how the story played out for them according to the interactive dialogues and decision they made in the gameplay which impacted the storyline.

Some points on what not to do while playing RPGs ….

DON’T Rush

Players who often complain that they were not able to enjoy the game or the game is overrated have generally rushed to finish it’s main story line on a countdown only for them to never open it again. They failed to savour the gameplay and only focused on completing the game. They know a little about the story as they skip cutscenes to move forward in game and make their hours count by quickly reaching to the game’s epilogue rather than actually playing it.

The Gameplay

In any game it is essential to learn about the game mechanics as they are not common across all RPGs. After getting familiar with the game’s basics like parrying, dodging and shooting, develop the play style that best suits you and is enjoyable in the longer run. There is no need of doing a 4–6 hours of suicide gaming marathon every night which will impact your sleep. Not everyone of us is a full time gamer, open the game only when you feel like playing it or when you need some mind off from work and studies.

Understand the Environment

It takes time to get familiar with the world you are playing in and once you get used to it the gameplay gets easier for you. You know your way around the map and then the side quests becomes easier for you to complete which gives you skills and the gear you need to enjoy playing main story. In a RPG you can strategize your own approach on how to proceed with a mission in the way that suits your unique playstyle. There is no need of staying in the part of the world you don’t enjoy, most player have common favourite spots where they played the game to the fullest.

Role playing games demand a certain level of dedication while playing them. The player must find the right balance between their gameplay and how they wish to proceed with the story of the game.

That’s all folks hope this article provided some insights on how you can enjoy playing any RPGs to the fullest.
